Learn to Make Soap from Scratch
Discover the art and science of soap making in this hands-on, 3-hour workshop with expert tutor Jackie Zeigler, owner of In My Soap Pot. Whether you’re curious about creating your own natural skincare, looking for a new creative hobby, or want to make beautiful handmade gifts, this workshop is the perfect place to start.
Jackie will guide you step-by-step through the cold process method of soap making. Cold process is a traditional technique that transforms everyday oils into luxurious, skin-loving bars of soap. You’ll learn the basics of how soap works and how to customise your creations using colours, fragrances, clays, exfoliants, and essential oils.
This workshop combines both theory and hands-on practice. Jackie shares her wealth of knowledge on natural soap making. This will include tips on troubleshooting, ingredient safety, and how to avoid common mistakes. You’ll leave with the confidence to continue soap making at home.
In the practical session, you’ll make a 500ml small loaf of soap, which produces approximately four full-sized or eight guest-sized bars. All materials, ingredients, and safety equipment are provided. You’ll also receive a reusable silicone soap mould to keep for your future soap creations.
This creative, fun, and informative session is suitable for beginners, and no prior experience is needed. Come alone or bring a friend for an inspiring afternoon of crafting and learning.
