Woodworking: Waste to Wonder Holiday Workshop for children aged 10+

Woodworking: Waste to Wonder, our eco-friendly woodworking series. Children over the duration of three-day course will make, paint and decorate two useful upcycled projects they will be proud of. The first day children will make a planter box for herbs and/or flowers. The second day they move on to making an Insect Hotel building on their woodworking skills. The third day is the finishing day where children will touch up if necessary, sand, paint, decorate and plant. Children aged 10+ will bring two fully completed projects which have been made using repurposed timbers.

This course is designed to be hands-on where children will learn new and valuable skills in woodwork using recycled timber. Each day’s skills building on the next. They will learn various foundation skills and techniques. These will include correct use of standard woodworking tools and most importantly using good safety practises.

Progressively over the Woodworking – Waste to Wonder 3-day course children will make two specific projects which will repurpose and give new life to more relatable timber items. The chosen projects will encourage creative thinking and are pieces children will enjoy making.

The Woodworking – Waste to Wonder course has three parts:

2nd Day:   9am – 3pm         Make an Insect Hotel
3rd Day:    9am – 3pm         Finish projects, sand, paint, decorate, paint and plant.
