This Soft Stone Sculpture workshop is taught by Gillian Elmslie.
Soft Stone Sculpture is an exciting way of sculpting beautiful pieces of garden art in only a few hours. The Soft Stone method is very easy to learn, you can do this! You will work as the stone block hardens while you are carving it. Your unique stone sculpture will be finished and ready to enjoy in one rewarding day. If you are a beginner, you will be guided step by step and by the time you finish your beautiful garden sculpture it will be ready to keep or give to someone special. You may have attended this workshop before but your results will show for themselves in your completed sculpture.
The techniques used for Soft Stone sculpting are unlike traditional sculpting methods. In particular there is no need to use power tools, heavy hammers or chisels and in fact no sculpting experience is required. All you need is a little creativity, and a desire to try something new.
Enhance your garden or an interior space by creating your own masterpieces using a medium that is accessible and so very easy to work with.

WHAT STUDENTS SAY ABOUT SOFT STONE SCULPTURE:
Mel K. (May 2022)
Mum and I had a really wonderful experience at Gillian’s stone sculpture workshop on Saturday.
Your studios are light filled and tidy (but not so clean you don’t feel like you can create). Gillian was very funny, and a helpful tutor. We are both thrilled with what we created for a first try at anything like this. This has inspired mum to go to more workshops, which I’m thrilled about – I hope she has as good of an experience at other centers closer to home, as what we had at Uxbridge.
