Sculpture for Beginners (Bronze Process). Saturday workshop held in Auckland

Sculpture for Beginners (Bronze process)

Have you ever wondered how stunning bronze sculptures come to life? Are you eager to explore the art of sculpting and create your own masterpieces? Join this Sculpture for Beginners (Bronze process) workshop – a fun, hands-on introduction that can lead to a casting in bronze or resin if wanted.

This workshop is designed for those new to sculpting. A comprehensive foundation in this timeless art form. You’ll start with the basics of working with oil-based clay, build your own armature, and learning essential techniques for moulding and casting. Unlike ceramics, you will learn about the lost wax process used to create bronzes. You’ll also learn how to select the right materials, maintain your sculptures, and use a variety of sculpting tools from our experienced artist/tutor Shona Lyons.

Throughout the workshop, you’ll create your own armature and get started on your oil-based Clay Sculpture. Oil based clay is ideal for crafting intricate, detailed designs. You will be able to take your sculpture home with clay to complete it as you wish as it won’t dry out. A continuation moulding and casting workshop may follow on from this workshop which will enable you to create copies of your sculpture in various mediums. Including, waxes for Bronzing, Resin, Candles, Plaster, etc. Once moulded, you can create up to 50 copies of your sculpture in various mediums.

All materials and equipment is provided in the workshop fee.

Please note there is NO refund or a transfer if you cancel less than 7 days in advance or once the class/workshop has started. Our refund policy can be read in full here.
