Make a Silver Ring: Lost Wax Jewellery Workshop
Have you ever wanted to make your own jewellery? Do you want to design a ring, pendant, or another unique piece? If so, this Make a Silver Ring workshop is a great introduction to jewellery making. First, you learn how to design and create your very own custom piece. Then, you bring your idea to life using traditional techniques.
In this Make a Silver Ring workshop, you work with the ancient Lost Wax method.
Session One – Designing and Carving Your Wax Model
First, you use jewellers’ wax to carve a model of the jewellery piece you want to make. Experienced tutor Macarena Bernal guides you step by step. Therefore, you do not need prior experience. Instead, you can relax and learn as you go.
In addition, this workshop welcomes all skill levels. Whether you are a complete beginner or have some jewellery making experience, you can join comfortably.
Next, you finish carving your jewellery piece in wax. After that, your wax model becomes the basis for casting. The workshop tutor creates a plaster mould from your wax model. Then, molten silver or white bronze is poured into the mould. The tutor completes this casting process between your two sessions.
Session Two – Finishing Your Jewellery Piece
When your casting returns, you begin finishing your piece. You file, carve, and clean the metal surface. As a result, your jewellery piece starts to look exactly as you imagined.
Finally, you polish the design until it is ready to wear and enjoy.

We provide all materials and tools. We also arrange casting for you at your own cost.
Casting prices vary depending on size, weight, and metal choice. As a guide, a 3.5g wax ring costs approximately:
