LEATHER CRAFT WORKSHOP – Design It. Make It. Take It Home.
Step into the workshop and start creating. Rather than simply learning about leather, you’ll design and craft your own bespoke piece from start to finish.
Today, mass production dominates the leather industry. Consequently, many items lack character and story. We buy them without knowing how they were designed or made. Instead, in this workshop, you take control. You shape every detail. Most importantly, you experience the satisfaction of making something with your own hands.
Throughout the day, you’ll choose your project and bring it to life. Options include a knife sheath or multitool case, wallet, dog collar, or a set of coasters. If you’re feeling ambitious, you can also discuss a slightly larger project with Fern (additional leather costs may apply).
From the outset, you’ll move through the full leatherworking process. First, you’ll draft your pattern. Next, you’ll cut, assemble, stitch, and finish your piece using traditional techniques. Along the way, leather artisan Fern Reid shares her knowledge and practical expertise. She introduces different leather types and qualities, demonstrates essential tools, and explains how to care for your finished item. Step by step, you build skills, confidence, and precision.
By the end of the day, you won’t just leave with a handcrafted piece – you’ll leave proud of what you’ve achieved. Best of all, you don’t need any prior experience. Beginners are absolutely welcome.

“It was such an amazing day. Fern and Paris were fantastic, really informative and great teachers. It was incredibly rewarding to start with no experience and go home with something I had made. I would highly recommend this workshop. I’ll be back to improve my skills. Wilson loves his new collar 😀”
