I’m an abstract eco-painter based in Aotearoa, New Zealand. Through the language of nature. I work primarily with ethically sourced earth pigments, embracing natural materials and sustainable processes.
For more than thirty years, I worked as a designer in New Zealand and Florence, collaborating with brands including Citta Design. While I loved the discipline of colour, form, and craft, the pace of corporate life left me seeking something quieter. Today, slow studio rituals and morning walks inspire a softer, intuitive, and deeply restorative practice. Ina Arraoui’s artistic education has included traditional engraving and etching techniques at the French Institute of Tetouan in Morocco and Il Bisonte Foundation for Art and Printmaking in Florence.
She has been an active member of the Print Council Aotearoa NZ since 2015, exhibiting widely and having her first solo show in 2017.
Extensive research into contemporary print practice by local artists led to establishing the Printopia Festival of Original Print in 2022 in Tāmaki Makaurau-Auckland, where she now resides.
