Peta Mathias has been public speaking since 2005, when she first hit New Zealand screens with her television series “Taste New Zealand”. She has written numerous books regarding food, travel and social commentary in addition to contributing to many recipe books. She loves telling tall stories, ironing out the agonising problems of life, sautéing up a storm, and singing of lost love.
Peta has a history of regaling her audiences with uncensored tales of her escapades and adventures, cooking tips, her philosophy on ageing, and her ‘it ain’t over till it’s over’ attitude. In addition, she’ll talk about life’s opportunities and how you must keep contributing, learning, and laughing. She is a wickedly funny presenter with a joie de vivre that lets the sunshine in!
Before the show we’ll break out the bubbles and devour delicious canapés, before joining the outrageous and hilarious Peta for a night of consummate entertainment. Afterwards, she’ll be signing copies of her 2021 book “Shed Couture”.
For the first time in two years, The Nukes return to the stage of the UXBRIDGE Theatre.
With well over 100,000 streams and views, Aotearoa New Zealand’s most beloved and enduring ‘original ukulele trio’ brings three albums worth of self-penned tunes as proof of their creative endeavours. It’s original, it’s quirky, it’s Kiwi. Don’t miss out.
The Nukes have appeared at WOMAD NZ, SPLORE, Auckland and Canterbury Folk Festivals, New Plymouth Festival Of Light, Wanaka Festival Of Colour, Coastella Festival, Southland Festival Of Arts, Bluff Oyster Festival, and in 2017 launched a successful nationwide Arts On Tour NZ March – and that’s not even mentioning their extensive touring in Australia.
St Andrew’s Big Band returns to UXBRIDGE, this time performing not one show but three to raise funds for Totara Hospice. The band will be performing a selection of Funk, Latin, and Soul classics by artists such as Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, and Aretha Franklin as well as contemporary hits by artists such as Lizzo, Bruno Mars, and more. 70% of all ticket sales is going directly to Totara Hospice – a fantastic concert for a fantastic cause.
