For the first time in two years, The Nukes return to the stage of the UXBRIDGE Theatre.

With well over 100,000 streams and views, Aotearoa New Zealand’s most beloved and enduring ‘original ukulele trio’ brings three albums worth of self-penned tunes as proof of their creative endeavours. At the helm is Dave Parker, backed by the percussion and falsetto of Mike Burrows while Ben Collier’s boisterous slide ukulele and wry humour round out the threesome. It’s original, it’s quirky, it’s Kiwi. Don’t miss out.

The Nukes have appeared at WOMAD NZ, SPLORE, Auckland and Canterbury Folk Festivals, New Plymouth Festival Of Light, Wanaka Festival Of Colour, Coastella Festival, Southland Festival Of Arts, Bluff Oyster Festival, and in 2017 launched a successful nationwide Arts On Tour NZ March – and that’s not even mentioning their extensive touring in Australia.

Four decades as a professional and nine albums later he continues to perform throughout New Zealand, Australia, Europe, and the USA. Paul has shared the stage and toured with the best: BB King, Bob Dylan, Taj Mahal, Keb Mo, Crowded House, Tuck and Patti… He has delighted festival audiences at the Dublin Blues Festival, Byron Bay Blues festival, Vancouver Island Folk Festival, Blues at Bridgetown and many others in Europe. “A national treasure; Paul Ubana Jones is so much more than one man with a guitar. He is a conjurer of unique and original songs, rooted in primal Blues and Soul”

“The most exciting Electro Acoustic Artist to visit our shores” Good Morning News, Santa Monica.

“Opening act Paul Ubana Jones earned his own standing ovation with utterly distinctive guitar style. I can only describe it as part Ritchie Havens, part Andres Segovia and part Ravi Shankar. FILTHY JUNK TRADERS: DESPICABLY DUSTY JUNK FUNK AND JAZZ
Taking inspiration from the lawless saxophone sections of the swing age and the heavy-footed beats of hip hop producers who reimagined the dusty recordings of that era, the Filthy Junk Traders bring their bars of grimy jazz, funk, and hip hop to Uxbridge.

Dustbin connoisseurs will be excited to hear the Junk Traders are currently hauling “Blue Pepper” from the Far East, “such sweet thunder” captured and bottled in storms over the mid Atlantic and of course “Barclava” baked with as many layers as is physically possible.

To all those in the Auckland area who are out to cop some contraband beats the junk traders have you covered.

Bar opens at 6:30PM
