𝗦𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝟯𝟬 𝗡𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 | 𝟳:𝟯𝟬𝗽𝗺 | 𝗨𝗫𝗕𝗥𝗜𝗗𝗚𝗘 𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗔𝗧𝗥𝗘

Since his 1987 arrival in New Zealand Paul Ubana Jones has recorded nine albums, been awarded three NZ Music Awards and taken his unique acoustic music and guitar playing to global dimensions.

Touring with such a diverse swag of ‘music royals ‘ including Norah Jones, Taj Mahal, B.B King & Lady Smith… and playing at respected festivals in USA, Switzerland, France and Australia. Paul keeps his music vision in perspective saying his calling to music happened when he was very young, with the journey continuing.

Opening performance tonight is from Kento Mori, a versatile guitarist who began composing fingerstyle pieces in sunny Nelson during his high school years. He arranges popular music into guitar instrumentals and does loop pedal improvisations. Bar Service from 6:30pm, doors open 7:30pm.

Congratulations to this year’s finalists for the 17th Estuary Art and Ecology Awards!

This year we had over 80 incredible entries, to which our amazing judge Benjamin Work had the difficult task to choose 20 artists and 5 highly commended as our finalists. Nonetheless, we have a selection of critically engaging and crafted artworks responding to ideas about our Tamaki Estuary, curated in our Malcolm Smith Gallery. Don’t forget to come along and see the artworks in person at our Opening and Awards ceremony on Saturday the 1st July!
