This hands-on Lamp Making workshop is ideal for anyone looking to add a personal touch to their home decor. \nBy the end of the session\, you’ll have a beautifully made drum lampshade\, approximately 35cm in diameter; moreover\, it will be perfect for a table lamp\, pendant lamp\, or small floor lamp with standard fittings. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn a new craft and create a beautiful\, bespoke lampshade that will fit in perfectly with your home décor. DESCRIPTION:In this Pounamu Carving workshop you will learn about the many practices associated with Māori arts. \nYou will learn the design and carving techniques needed to create your own unique Pounamu marama (moon) taonga and all in this one day workshop. You will use diamond wheels\, drills\, wet and dry sanding\, and polishing tools\, to  create a Pounamu pendant under the watchful guidance of artist/tutor Maha Tomo. Once your Pounamu pendant is complete you will learn some traditional Polynesian braiding and lashing techniques to complete the pendant ready to wear. It’s a true labour of love for sure. Anna designs each piece of art carefully\, using her background in Graphic Design to compose balanced arrangements.
