Romy Hume

Growing up in Germany, Romy fell in love with the French language and culture the moment she heard Edith Piaf’s “La vie en rose” for the first time, which eventually led to an MA (1st Class Hons) in French. She enjoys passing her passion for language on to others and has been teaching German and French for 8 years, both in evening classes and as a private tutor for secondary and tertiary students. Her classes are fun and interactive, but nobody is ever forced to speak.

As her day job, Romy is a full-time doctoral candidate at the University of Auckland, researching autism in adulthood, and she mentors autistic adults on employment-related issues.
