The UXBRIDGE theatre (originally a church) is a unique space with lots of warmth and plenty of character. It’s a specific space designed for all entertainment and performing arts, also enjoying a  sound and lighting system that enhances the original acoustics of the building from past times. The theatre makes a fantastic hire space for any performers who want an intimate and superior place to perform. We deliver limited UXBRIDGE events but if you think we could sell-out your performance then please enquire now.

Howick’s Museum of Meaningful Moments is a collaborative project between UXBRIDGE Arts and Culture and Auckland University of Technology. It is a creative space to celebrate: a place where people of all ages and from all walks of life can let us know what makes Howick such a special place for them. We’re going to use three different interactive methods for you to tell your stories and to help us gather. The first is our TELL-A-PHONE, this is a telephone box with a dial phone in it that when picked up records anonymous voice messages. The second is our MMM Post-box, which will collect your photos, drawings, and poems along with the story behind them. The third is sharing your story digitally through email.

It enables shared experiences, observations, insights, and stories through photos, audio, artwork, or something else entirely. We’ll be inviting you to share small, meaningful stories about your favourite place in Howick, a fond memory you have of Howick, or share examples of Howick’s community spirit.

When the Howick MMM closes, your beautiful audio stories will be transcribed and combined with the written and illustrated stories and shared through an online exhibition and archive space created and curated by Good Health Design, AUT School of Art and Design.

The meaningful collection of stories will be shared with UXBRIDGE and all of Howick through posters, online viewing etc.

This installation is inspired by the work of American multi-media artist Jen Stark.

She has worked with brands like Apple, Google, Vans and MTV creating immersive installations with psychedelic’s colours and drip patterns!

We are inviting the community to come together and participate in this collaborative project.
Anyone aged 8+ can contribute. Just come to UXBRIDGE (dates indicated below) and our volunteers will provide you with instructions, templates and paint to create your drips!

The installation will take shape as the drips get created!

Elopement and small intimate weddings are a beautiful thing. You can make it as simple as just yourselves, your witnesses, a photographer and celebrant or have a small celebration with your nearest and dearest, with a ceremony, canapés, champagne, cake and photos. Either way, it’s all about you as a couple and creating moments to remember and cherish forever.

UXBRIDGE can be the perfect ‘venue only’ space for you to organise your own special day and on a very small budget.
