In this Tiny Stitches Embroidery workshop, you will be introduced to the contemporary techniques of embroidery. You will learn 5 main embroidery stitches in the first part of the session, as well as the basic concepts and stitches that you can use with different types of fibers (embroidery floss, and wool, among others).
In the second part of the session, you will start your own design on fabric or clothes! You will see that you can use contemporary embroidery in such fun and innovative ways. If you are unsure of what design to stitch, your tutor Lina Castro will have some you can choose from.
WHO IS THIS CLASS SUITABLE FOR?
This is a beginner’s and Intermediate one-day workshop as you will review different types of techniques, so if you already know some concepts you will learn how to apply an embroidery on different fabrics and to transfer our designs.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN IN THIS WORKSHOP:
– To master 5-6 basic stitches and create your embroidery sampler
– How to use different types of threads such as wool, and cotton floss in your design
– The concepts of contemporary embroidery to use for your own designs, clothes upcycling or decorative hoops
WHAT TO BRING?
A full introductory kit included in fee. However, if you wish to stitch your final project on a tee shirt or a pair of jeans, make sure your bring your own.
YOU WILL COME HOME WITH:
1 Embroidery sampler hoop and your embroidery project.
