Under the guidance of experienced instructor Katie Smith, you’ll learn the art of pattern repeating design and create a stunning collection of printed designs on textiles. You’ll even get to take home your very own linen tea towel as a beautiful reminder of your time with us.
During the workshop, you’ll use simple yet effective materials to create your own printing stamp and carve a printing block to use. You’ll have a curated selection of textile colors to choose from, and learn how to think like a textile designer by taking inspiration from contemporary textile artisans.
All materials will be provided for use during the workshop, so you can simply focus on exploring your creative side. And don’t worry if you’re new to textile block printing – this is a fun and interactive workshop suitable for all levels of experience.
By the end of the workshop, you’ll have gained valuable insights into the techniques and processes involved in textile block printing. You’ll take home your printing blocks, several printed samples on cotton, and your completed printed linen tea towel – tangible evidence of your newfound skills and creativity.

WHAT TO BRING?
You will make and take home a collection of stamps, printed samples on calico squares and a finished textile design on a linen tea towel.
The class includes all materials to make wooden stamps, print onto test fabric then print final tea towel.
Although most of your materials are included please bring the following items that you should have around the house; Apron, scissors, ruler, pencils, eraser, pens.
