This beginner-friendly workshop is perfect for children who love crafting\, designing\, or simply trying something new. With step-by-step guidance from Gracie our friendly tutor\, kids will learn how to thread a needle\, use a hand crank machine\, and combine colourful fabrics into a beautiful patchwork cushion. \nThroughout the session\, children will explore colour matching\, pattern layout\, and simple sewing techniques in a relaxed\, supportive environment. All materials are provided\, and no prior sewing experience is needed – just enthusiasm and a willingness to learn! \nSewing builds patience\, boosts confidence\, and develops fine motor skills – plus it’s a lot of fun! She continues to share her personal costume and textile collection through symposiums\, events and exhibitions. \nWho is this workshop designed for:\nThis sewing workshop is for all children who want to give sewing a go!\nChildren must be aged 8+ years old. Please do not register children under the age of 8 in this class. \nWhat to bring:\nAll materials are included in the fee. Children can bring a water bottle and snacks.

Children will learn how to join fabric pieces neatly together\, and discover simple tips and tricks to build confidence with sewing. Best of all\, every child will leave with a custom-made adventure backpack they can proudly use every day. \nWHAT PARTICIPANTS WILL LEARN:\n• Sewing machine basics and safe operation\n• How to join fabric pieces neatly and accurately\n• Beginner sewing tips and techniques\n• How to plan and assemble a functional back pack design \nBy the end of the session\, each child will take home their own handmade adventure backpack designed with colours and patterns they chose themselves.
