19th Estuary Art and Ecology Awards Submissions Page

The Estuary Art and Ecology Awards are Aotearoa’s only annual contemporary art awards with ecology at the core. Artists are invited to research and respond to the Tāmaki Estuary, explore the ecological value of this vital waterway, and encourage action against its pollution. Finalists will be exhibited in the Malcolm Smith Gallery at UXBRIDGE Arts and Culture and winning artworks will be intelligent and innovative responses to ecology in the field of contemporary art.

Does my artwork need to be completed before submitting?

  • Yes, all artworks submitted must be complete at the time of submission.

I have multiple works I want to submit, can I submit more than one artwork?

  • Yes, you can submit as many artworks as you like as long as each artwork is submitted individually. This means you must provide completed paperwork and an entry fee for each artwork as separate submissions.

My artwork exceeds the size or weight requirements, can I still submit?

  • Yes, if your artwork exceeds the 2 meter height limit or 55 kilogram weight limit we have a leeway of up to 20 millimeters extra in height, width and depth including framing, and up to 5 kilograms extra in weight at the maximum.

Will you provide feedback on artwork prior to submission and/or after the finalists selection?

  • Due to our small exhibitions team and the large amount of submissions we get, we unfortunately do not have the capacity to provide feedback on artworks during any stage of the submission process.

Can you organise the transportation of my artwork if I reimburse you?

  • No, all artwork transportation to and from UXBRIDGE  must be organised by the artist. Due to our small exhibitions team, we do not have the capacity to organise individual freight on behalf of each artist.
