WHAT HAPPENS IN THE WORKSHOP:

During the Terrazzo Home Décor workshop, you will have the freedom to decide on the colours and combinations for your piece. Our expert tutor, Sam from Terrazzo Trinkets, will guide you through the process of creating the terrazzo chips in the colour of your choice. You can either use the pre-made colours or mix your own unique colour using the provided pigments. Once the mix is poured, you will get to experience the satisfying process of crunching up the chips and incorporating them into your final product mix. Measuring, mixing, pouring and tapping will keep you engaged and busy all afternoon.

WHAT SKILLS WILL YOU LEARN:

Finally when your piece is set, you will sand it using a variety of sandpaper grits to reveal the chips to your liking and give it a smooth finish. Throughout the process you will learn the skills needed to create your own trinket with your own personal touch. You will choose to make either a small oval tray or a pair of circle coasters. If terrazzo is not your style, you can also create a marble finish in a mix of colours that better suits your preferences.

WHO CAN ATTEND THIS WORKSHOP:

This workshop is designed for all levels of experience, from beginner to expert. Sam will make her own piece at the same time to provide real-time examples. Written instruction sheets will be available for those who prefer learning by reading. You will finish your pieces and seal them in class and then take them home with you at the end of the workshop. We recommend this workshop for ages 16 and up. We suggest wearing something that you don’t mind getting a bit dirty, as working with pigments and sandpaper can be messy.
