This beginner-friendly workshop is perfect for children who love crafting, designing, or simply trying something new. With step-by-step guidance from Gracie our friendly tutor, kids will learn how to thread a needle, use a hand crank machine, and combine colourful fabrics into a beautiful patchwork cushion.
Throughout the session, children will explore colour matching, pattern layout, and simple sewing techniques in a relaxed, supportive environment. All materials are provided, and no prior sewing experience is needed – just enthusiasm and a willingness to learn!
Sewing builds patience, boosts confidence, and develops fine motor skills – plus it’s a lot of fun! Each child will walk away with a finished, personalised cushion they’ve made themselves – a perfect keepsake to be proud of!
This holiday workshop is ideal for kids ages 8+ and offers a fantastic introduction to sewing in a creative, social setting. Limited spots are available to ensure one-on-one attention and a positive experience for all.

In addition to teaching and travelling New Zealand for a fabric supplier she has her own business offering a variety of costume and sewing services including hire, manufacture, costume and sewing experience packages and continues to share her personal costume and textile collection through symposiums, events and exhibitions.
