A Piece of Cake – Kids Papier-Mâché Cake Workshop (Ages 8+)
A Sweet Creative Treat Without the Sugar!
Kids, get ready to roll up your sleeves and dive into a delightfully messy, hands-on art adventure. It’s time to make a papier-mâché piece of cake! This is a fun and creative two-part kids art workshop for young makers aged 8+. They will sculpt and paint their very own realistic fake slice of cake, beautifully displayed on a charming stand. No baking, no sugar, just imagination and creativity!
The workshop is led by our experienced and inspiring tutor Maree, The children will learn the basics of sculpture and papier-mâché techniques, using simple armatures and layering methods. In the first session, kids will design and build their cake slice from scratch, exploring shape, texture, and dimension to create a mouth-watering masterpiece that looks good enough to eat.
Once their cake creations have dried, it’s time for the best part, the Decorating! In the second session, kids will paint and embellish their cakes with vibrant colours and playful details. They’ll add frosting effects, icing drips, sprinkles, cherries, and decorative toppings bringing their cake slice to life. This workshop is perfect for kids who love art, crafts, and sweet treats (without the sugar rush). Each child will take home a unique papier-mâché cake sculpture, ready to proudly display or gift as a quirky, handmade keepsake.
A truly sweet creative experience for young artists who love getting messy and making something unforgettable! 🍰
