SUMMARY:Yoga with Judy
DESCRIPTION:Join the Yoga with Judy class for your morning yoga fix! \nIn this class Judy Charlesworth guides you to move with your body and connect your mind and emotions along the way. Judy teaches yoga as the art of letting go – helping you lengthen muscles\, create space\, and move mindfully through Asanas. \nYoga invites you to love yourself just as you are – right now – with both your strengths and your challenges. For this reason\, Judy encourages you to take each Asana only as far as it feels right for your body. \nAs you begin\, warming up and moving with awareness\, your muscles gradually loosen\, and your flexibility naturally increases. However\, if you go too deep into a pose\, that’s okay – simply ease out\, take a breath\, and return to your safe edge. \nAt the same time\, keep listening to your body and stay curious about how it responds. After all\, acceptance and awareness go hand in hand in this practice. \nIn truth\, we all bring something different to the mat – maybe a past injury\, tight scar tissue\, or a body shape that affects movement. Whether it’s long arms\, short legs\, or a full bust\, yoga welcomes you exactly as you are\, without judgment. Ultimately\, Judy reminds you that yoga is about showing up honestly\, moving with care\, and working with what your body offers today. \n\nWHO IS THIS CLASS FOR?\nThis class will be enjoyable for beginners as well as people who have already started their yoga practice. This is the ideal class for people who want to work within any constraints their body may present. \nYOUR TUTOR:\nJudy Charlesworth has been with Uxbridge for over ten years and has been teaching for over eighteen years. She even has co-authored a yoga book in the 90s.\nReed more about Judy here. \n  \n\nPlease note:\n\nThere is NO refund or a transfer if you cancel less than 7 days in advance or once the class/workshop has started. Our refund policy can be read in full here.\nIf the tutor is unwell or unavailable to teach a single session\, often at short notice\, it is our preference to find a suitable relief teacher. If we are unable to do this then a session will be added at the end of the advertised course OR a credit voucher or refund for that session will be offered.\nCourse prices may vary slightly between terms depending on the number of sessions (e.g. Term 3 may have 9 sessions\, while Term 4 has 10). This is usually due to public holidays or long weekends.

SUMMARY:Kintsugi
DESCRIPTION:Kintsugi is the Japanese art of putting broken pottery pieces back together with gold. A metaphor for embracing your flaws and imperfections. \nLet’s pick up the pieces and mend them back together in this modern Kintsugi workshop. The art of Kintsugi not only makes this possible but also\, in turn\, celebrates the mend in the most beautiful and obvious way. \nKintsugi\, which loosely translates to ‘golden joinery\,’ is the ancient Japanese art of repairing broken objects whether wood\, metal\, or ceramic. Moreover\, it emphasizes beauty in restoration rather than hiding flaws. The techniques of Kintsugi treats the repair as part of the object’s history\, instead of hiding the repair as if it never happened. The ‘flaw’ reveals the history\, and the resulting piece is considered more beautiful. With guidance from tutor Han Nae Kim\, you’ll learn to beautifully piece your broken ceramic back together. \nUrushi is a traditional resin lacquer\, one of the oldest materials used in East Asia to repair damaged objects. First\, we’ll use traditional lacquer and varnish\, then apply gold or silver leaf or gold dust to repair your broken ceramic object. As a result\, the repair becomes a meaningful part of its history. Different techniques and repair materials are used depending on how many cracks or breaks your piece to repair may have. \n  \nTHINGS TO BRING TO KINTSUGI:\nBring your own damaged objects\, along with a container to safely transport curing items. All other materials will be provided.\nNOTE:  While workshop materials are all natural and food-safe\, traditional Urushi lacquer can cause allergic reactions. We will handle it carefully and provide guidance. \n  \nPlease note there is NO refund or a transfer if you cancel less than 7 days in advance or once the class/workshop has started. Our refund policy can be read in full here.

SUMMARY:Leather Craft
DESCRIPTION:LEATHER CRAFT WORKSHOP – Design It. Make It. Take It Home. \nStep into the workshop and start creating. Rather than simply learning about leather\, you’ll design and craft your own bespoke piece from start to finish. \nToday\, mass production dominates the leather industry. Consequently\, many items lack character and story. We buy them without knowing how they were designed or made. Instead\, in this workshop\, you take control. You shape every detail. Most importantly\, you experience the satisfaction of making something with your own hands. \nThroughout the day\, you’ll choose your project and bring it to life. Options include a knife sheath or multitool case\, wallet\, dog collar\, or a set of coasters. If you’re feeling ambitious\, you can also discuss a slightly larger project with Fern (additional leather costs may apply). \nFrom the outset\, you’ll move through the full leatherworking process. First\, you’ll draft your pattern. Next\, you’ll cut\, assemble\, stitch\, and finish your piece using traditional techniques. Along the way\, leather artisan Fern Reid shares her knowledge and practical expertise. She introduces different leather types and qualities\, demonstrates essential tools\, and explains how to care for your finished item. Step by step\, you build skills\, confidence\, and precision. \nBy the end of the day\, you won’t just leave with a handcrafted piece – you’ll leave proud of what you’ve achieved. Best of all\, you don’t need any prior experience. Beginners are absolutely welcome. \nWHAT TO BRING\n\n\nAll leather\, tools\, and equipment for the standard project options are included in your workshop fee.\nPlease bring:\nA craft knife or Stanley knife\nPencil and pen\nNotepad or paper\nIf you plan to make a knife sheath or multitool case\, you must bring the knife or tool with you. \nFor health and safety reasons\, wear closed shoes and tie long hair back. \nWHAT OUR STUDENTS SAY\nPeter M. (April 2024)“The Leather Craft workshop with Fern was amazing. Who knew leather craft could be this much fun? Fern was a great teacher\, and the facilities were spot on.” \nAlec M. (April 2024)“It was such an amazing day. Fern and Paris were fantastic\, really informative and great teachers. It was incredibly rewarding to start with no experience and go home with something I had made. I would highly recommend this workshop. I’ll be back to improve my skills. Wilson loves his new collar 😀” \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n  \nPlease note there is NO refund or a transfer if you cancel less than 7 days in advance or once the class/workshop has started. Because kiln firing takes time\, you’ll collect your completed vases a few weeks later – we’ll notify you once they’re ready. \nWHAT IS INCLUDED:\nAll clay workshop materials\, tools\, glazes\, and kiln firing are included – you just need to bring your imagination and enthusiasm.\nThis class is about slowing down\, getting your hands dirty\, and connecting with your creative instincts. Above all\, you’ll leave with not only beautiful vessels\, but also new pottery skills and artistic confidence. \nWHAT YOU WILL MAKE:\nChoose from artisan clay vases\, hand-sculpted vessels\, or experiment with both during the session – there’s plenty of room to explore. What ever you make\, your final pieces will be practical\, decorative\, and one-of-a-kind and perfect for your home or to give as handmade gifts. \nWHO SHOULD ATTEND THIS WORKSHOP:\nThis clay workshop is ideal for beginners and intermediate makers who want to learn pottery in a relaxed\, inspiring environment.\nHowever\, participants must be 16+ due to the use of tools and materials during the session. \nGET INSPIRED:\nGet inspired before class\nCheck out our Pinterest board for examples of clay vessels\, vases\, and handmade ceramic art. \nSign up today and join our welcoming creative community—ready to help you shape\, sculpt\, and fire your artistic vision. \n  \nThere is NO refund or a transfer if you cancel less than 7 days in advance or once the class/workshop has started.
