DESCRIPTION:WHAT HAPPENS IN COLLEGE ART STATION:\nThe students will learn how to plan their layout and draw like a pro! In this class\, students are free to work on their own projects if they choose to OR can be guided on a project selected with the tutor. They will be working in all different mediums: acrylics\, oils\, pencils etc… \nOur tutor Amber will assist with getting their drawing proportions right. Additionally\, the class will explore with colours and how they work together. The group will look at different artists and learn from their techniques\, colour blending\, shading and painting techniques. Amber encourages freedom of creativity in this course and students often bring their own ideas to class. \nIn terms of pace\, it is up to the student! Some like to work on a single piece for the duration of the term\, others make several.\nIt is a fun art class where it is easy to engage in conversations with other like-minded art lovers! \nWHAT COLLEGE ART STATION PROVIDES:\n\nAll materials are included! This class also provides the ultimate workspace and relaxed atmosphere conducive to making art. The studio is airy and light filled\, and equipped with everything the young artists may need. Amber will provide guidance and help towards creating any artwork. Students are welcome to listen to their own music while drawing and/or have conversations. The course gives its students solid art skills and transferrable skills for everyday life (yes! problem solving\, patience\, confidence and focus – just to name a few). DESCRIPTION:Making Pictures is a fun introduction to art for kids ages 6 to 10 years\, where our teacher Siobhan will teach the basics of drawing and painting. \nWhat happens in the class:\nThe children will use various mediums such as paints\, pastels\, dyes\, graphite pencils and more. Using a step by step process\, kids will learn layout and composition principles.\nThey will be learning new techniques using paint brushes and sponges. Our tutors are both supportive and encourage the students to put their own individual spin into their artwork.\nChildren usually complete 3 to 4 projects per terms\, depending on the group’s advancement. \nWhat this class provides:\nFrom our Making Pictures class\, kids will gain valuable skills to use in their artistic journey in a relaxed environment. Music is usually played in the background\, kids get to draw and paint with other like-minded children and get inspiration from each other. They also get on-going mentorship for our friendly and experienced tutors. \nWho is Making Pictures for?\nThis art class is suitable for any child between 6 and 10 years old. \nWhat to bring?\nBringing an art shirt is recommended. All other materials are included in this class. \nIn Siobhan’s class\, your child is likely to make whimsical themed creations in a delicate style. Think cute tigers\, unicorn and dragons. Magical landscapes and imaginary themes. See Siobhan’s artworks. \nIMPORTANT NOTES: \n\nSome course prices can vary between terms depending on the number of sessions (e.g. Term 3 may have 9 sessions\, while Term 4 has 10). DESCRIPTION:This Drawing and Painting class is the step up from our Making Pictures class. It is designed to take our young artists to the next level and help them develop their own style. \nKids ages 8 to 12 years\, where our teacher Siobhan will teach new drawing techniques and teach different aspects of painting. \nWhat happens in the class:\nThe children will continue to use various mediums such as paints\, pastels\, dyes\, graphite pencils and more. They will create artworks of various sizes too.\nIn this class they will experiment with new fun techniques. Using a step by step process\, the tutor will guide children through various projects during the term. They usually complete 3 to 4 projects per terms\, depending on the group’s advancement. Our tutors are both supportive and encourage the students to put their own individual spin into their artwork.\nThis course is all about getting the child to explore and giving them the confidence to develop their own style. \nWhat this class provides:\nFrom our Drawing and Painting class\, kids will gain confidence in their artistic journey in a relaxed environment. The tutors play music in the background\, kids get to draw and paint with other like-minded children and get inspiration from each other. Conversations are encouraged and the course is a solid base for College Art. They also get on-going mentorship from our friendly and experienced tutors. \nWhat to bring?\nBringing an art shirt is recommended. All other materials are included in this class. \nWho is this class suited for?\nThis art class is suitable for children between 8 and 12 years old who may have attended Making Pictures in the past (although not compulsory).\nIt is also an option of choice for those with a willingness to learn new techniques.\nThis is the ideal class to transition into the next level College Art Station for ages 13-17 years. \nOUR TUTOR\nIn Siobhan’s class\, your child is likely to make whimsical themed creations in a delicate style. DESCRIPTION:Relax – anyone can do yoga\, however\, we know it might feel intimidating at first and especially if you’ve seen your partners advanced poses. \nDon’t worry – we’re not diving into pretzel-like positions yet. Unless\, of course\, you’re ready and comfortable to try them. Instead\, we’ll start with simple\, foundational postures. After all\, these basic poses build strength and flexibility for both men and women. \nDo you enjoy playing golf\, tennis\, bowls\, squash or any other activities that require agility and flexibility? Are you strong but not necessarily bendy? Join this Yoga for Men and Women course and let Jacqui Pounder show you some great techniques to stretch out and help you stay injury-free. \nThere are many variations of yoga and we’ve designed this course to cater for women and to encourage men to practice more regularly.
