Conversations are encouraged and the course is a solid base for College Art. They also get on-going mentorship from our friendly and experienced tutors. \nWhat to bring?\nBringing an art shirt is recommended. Children will learn to look critically at their pieces and may chat with others in the class to share ideas and provide feedback. Sometimes they may not personally like what they have produced\, but other people may\, and there will always be new tips and tricks picked up along the way.\nChildren will have the opportunity to try many new ways of drawing and think creatively. DESCRIPTION:WHAT HAPPENS IN COLLEGE ART STATION:\nThe students will learn how to plan their layout and draw like a pro! In this class\, students are free to work on their own projects if they choose to OR can be guided on a project selected with the tutor. They will be working in all different mediums: acrylics\, oils\, pencils etc… \nOur tutor Amber will assist with getting their drawing proportions right. Additionally\, the class will explore with colours and how they work together. The group will look at different artists and learn from their techniques\, colour blending\, shading and painting techniques. Amber encourages freedom of creativity in this course and students often bring their own ideas to class. \nIn terms of pace\, it is up to the student! Some like to work on a single piece for the duration of the term\, others make several.\nIt is a fun art class where it is easy to engage in conversations with other like-minded art lovers! \nWHAT COLLEGE ART STATION PROVIDES:\n\nAll materials are included! This class also provides the ultimate workspace and relaxed atmosphere conducive to making art. The studio is airy and light filled\, and equipped with everything the young artists may need. Amber will provide guidance and help towards creating any artwork. Students are welcome to listen to their own music while drawing and/or have conversations. The course gives its students solid art skills and transferrable skills for everyday life (yes! problem solving\, patience\, confidence and focus – just to name a few). DESCRIPTION:Let your child get super creative in our Mini Clay Makers afterschool clay class. Led by our friendly and experienced tutor\, Olive\, children explore the joy of working with clay while learning essential hand-building techniques. They practise coiling\, slab building\, sculpting and pinch methods. These simple\, hands-on techniques help them design and create colourful\, functional ceramic pieces they’ll feel proud to take home. \nEach session focuses on making\, experimenting\, and expressing ideas. Every week\, children sculpt imaginative pieces and then add vibrant underglaze colours to bring their work to life. It’s a lively mix of art\, craft\, and fun. \nWe supply all materials and equipment\, including clay\, glazes\, pottery tools\, and kiln firing. Your child just needs to arrive ready to create and get a little messy. Please send them in old clothes (no school uniforms)\, as clay can stain. \nThroughout the course\, children experience the full pottery process. They shape\, refine\, and decorate their pieces\, then wait for the exciting moment when their creations come out of the kiln\, ready to take home. While our tutors handle each piece with great care\, clay is a natural and sometimes unpredictable material. That unpredictability is part of what makes pottery so magical. \nOlive keeps children engaged and focused\, encouraging them to create pieces they can truly be proud of. Most projects take two sessions to complete\, allowing time for thoughtful making and careful finishing. \nWHO CAN JOIN?\nMini Clay Makers is perfect for children aged 6–12 years. Beginners and returning young artists are all welcome. DESCRIPTION:WHAT HAPPENS IN COLLEGE ART STATION:\nThe students will learn how to plan their layout and draw like a pro! In this class\, students are free to work on their own projects if they choose to OR can be guided on a project selected with the tutor. They will be working in all different mediums: acrylics\, oils\, pencils etc… \nOur tutor Amber will assist with getting their drawing proportions right. Additionally\, the class will explore with colours and how they work together. The group will look at different artists and learn from their techniques\, colour blending\, shading and painting techniques. Amber encourages freedom of creativity in this course and students often bring their own ideas to class. \nIn terms of pace\, it is up to the student! Some like to work on a single piece for the duration of the term\, others make several.\nIt is a fun art class where it is easy to engage in conversations with other like-minded art lovers! \nWHAT COLLEGE ART STATION PROVIDES:\n\nAll materials are included! This class also provides the ultimate workspace and relaxed atmosphere conducive to making art. The studio is airy and light filled\, and equipped with everything the young artists may need. Amber will provide guidance and help towards creating any artwork. Students are welcome to listen to their own music while drawing and/or have conversations. The course gives its students solid art skills and transferrable skills for everyday life (yes! problem solving\, patience\, confidence and focus – just to name a few). Not to mention\, it is the perfect place to unwind and forget about school for a couple of hours each week. \nTHIS CLASS IS SUITABLE FOR:\nCollege Art Station is perfect for any teens who has a love of art and a willingness to learn and those working on their own projects. Please note\, this class is for ages 13 to 17 years. \nWhat to bring?\nBringing an art shirt is recommended.\nAll other materials are included in this class. \nOUR TUTOR\nAmber teaches Making Pictures for ages 6 – 10\, Drawing and Painting for ages 8 – 12\, Painting Essentials for adults and the College Art Station for ages 13 – 17 years. See Amber’s work \nIMPORTANT NOTES: \n\nSome course prices can vary between terms depending on the number of sessions (e.g. Term 3 may have 9 sessions\, while Term 4 has 10).
