My creative practice is defined as creative life, the intriguing journey of learning and creating balance through the expression of visual language. My teaching practice has a strong emphasis on learning by doing, doing as a tool for developing understanding. I strive for my students to achieve all the photographic milestones; using their camera on manual, knowing what the visual impact of different settings are, having experience across many genres, and understanding the uses of different equipment. Most importantly, I challenge my students to disregard all preconceived notions of what a ‘good’ photograph might be, to keep an open mind and experiment with the visual language of photography to make their own discoveries. I hope the
relaxed atmosphere, the social and friendly dynamic in class at Uxbridge make such learning opportunities unique.
