Cristina Capri

christina-capri-profileI qualified as an Architect in Venice, Italy and I pursued my passion for the design of interiors.
Having a Master in Industrial Archaeology and Conservation, I was involved in the renovation of many houses, villas and historical places in my native country and abroad.
I moved to South Africa after my studies and I specialized as an Interior Designer in Office and Space Planning, designing the working environment for International companies .Later, my company Italdesign Architects was involved in the design, renovation and re-modelling of beautiful homes, functional showrooms, efficient offices and trendy shops.

Growing up in Milan, where design is part of day to day life, my Italian flair has helped characterize my interior work, even when adapting to fulfill the needs of clients. When a simple decorating scheme will not be suitable and a re-planning of the existing house is necessary, I have the right skills and knowledge to understand your brief and create a functional solution for your issues.

I now live in New Zealand and share my expertise of many years of highly rewarding work in the residential, commercial and retail sector. I continue my researches into the most updated solutions in space and office design to address the well-being of the workers, while achieving maximum efficiency and productivity.

I take great enthusiasm in creating and turning into reality my client’s dream home, whether it is the project management of new work, a renovation or simply re-styling. During the design process, I find the most appropriate solutions to suit the needs and the lifestyle of the client. I have been a lecturer at the “Unitec Institute of Technology” and I am currently involved in the running of several leisure short courses on Interior Design, Kitchen and Bathroom Design, Colour Theory, Art display, Office and Space Planning, Feng Shui.

The aim of the short courses I offer is to introduce students to the practical elements of Interior Design. These courses or workshops are quick, smart and informative for those who want to:

  • enhance their very own living space,
  • buy their first home or  investment property
  • re-model an existing home
  • further their studies in this discipline

I have traveled in many Countries and I love to discover new places and this brought me to share my findings and my passion; my Art and Architecture Short Courses and Seminars and the occasional talk.
